Fresh off the successful founding of the acclaimed Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences Food Studio Culinary Program, Thomas Scangarello is now bringing the Food Studio experience right to your home.
Whether you're looking for a fun demonstration, an intimate hands-on lesson or an interactive dinner party - Food Studio has your recipe for success.
We will come into your home and prepare a dinner selected by you, prepared and served by us. Usually these dinner parties range in number based upon the seating capacity of your home. Just give us a call and we'll create something special just for you. Give your guests something to remember!
Preparation of classic but simple dishes ranging from culinary fundamentals like knife skills, to the introduction of meat and poultry dishes and the creation of sauces.
Also included is buying techniques and food "prepping" shortcuts. Emphasis will be placed on final presentation of dishes including pastas, salads and fish. All classes will take place at your selected location.
Date night is similar to "hands on" with a romantic spin: you bring a date, significant other, good friend or family member and learn how to prepare a four course meal from start to finish. Not only will you learn how to impress future guests, you will have a fun and unique evening that you will be sure to remember!
"Hands-on" is a private cooking party program perfect for entertaining at the private and corporate level. Events such as birthday parties, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, bachelor and bachelorette parties can be designed with specific menus.
The entertainment is the "hands-on cooking" where you will learn different tricks and techniques. A sit down dinner will follow and be served by our staff. The class can be held at home or at a semi private venue.

Thomas Scangarello has been cooking for more than forty years. In addition to founding the LBIF Food Studio Culinary Program, he has been involved with programs at the James Beard Cooking School, the Viking Cooking School and Sur la Table.
